Questions About the Smart Nail Lamp
What is the difference between a UV and LED nail lamp?
LED lamps cure gel faster and use a narrower band of light than UV lamps. The Smart Nail Lamp is a 48W LED lamp, built to cure Solid Gel, BIAB Builder Gel and Speedi Mani in 60 to 120 seconds.
Are LED nail lamps safe to use at home?
A full manicure involves only a few minutes of light exposure per session, far less than a short walk outside in the Aussie sun. LED lamps use a more targeted spectrum than UV lamps, which further limits exposure time.
How long does it take to cure gel nails under the lamp?
Cure time depends on the gel type. The Smart Nail Lamp has three settings: 60 seconds for Speedi Mani, 90 seconds for FibreFlex™ BIAB Builder Gel and SculptCure™ Solid Gel, and 120 seconds for thicker Builder application and any other thick gels that require a bit more curing time.
What wattage nail lamp do I need?
Higher wattage generally means faster, more even curing across all five nails at once. The Smart Nail Lamp runs at 48W, with LED bulbs spaced evenly around the dome so every nail cures at the same rate.
Does the lamp turn on and off by itself?
Yes. An infrared sensor detects your hand as it goes in and starts the timer automatically. It switches off again the moment your hand comes out, so there's no button to press mid-cure.
Is the Smart Nail Lamp cordless?
It's USB powered, so it connects to any USB power source. Compact enough to keep on any bench or pack for travel.
Can I use the Smart Nail Lamp with other gel brands?
It's built around the cure times for Ambedo's three systems, and works with most LED-curable gels. Check the cure time on your gel's packaging and match it to the closest timer setting.
